Fight Song for a Warrior Girl!

Standard

What’s up?!

I have heard a lot of songs that have basically explained what I am going through in terms of my CRPS, but none have been as perfect as the song below. I have listened to it many times but never noticed what the lyrics were actually saying. I had been stuck in bed after a bad fall for weeks and weeks, but I have been trying to show my power no matter what! Just like the song says “there is a fire burning in my bones” (for me it is my skin) and this is my fight song. Sometimes all you need is someone else to remind you that you are stronger than you feel and that you can do anything you put your mind to. I want to get back to playing basketball and because somebody said I can, I am working as hard as I can trying not to let anything bring me down. If I do get knocked down, I will just get back up, and those are my fight words. I know that everyone is way stronger than they believe and if they can just think about how much they will love and enjoy what they are working towards, they will power through and succeed. Trust me, I know because I have been through it many, many times and to be honest, it is the best feeling to know you have just achieved something that inside your heart is massively big! Now, introducing my new song that I will be listening to whenever I am feeling beaten down. I hope it can help you too…

Pumping up for Life!

Standard

Bonjour!

Lately it has been extremely tough with my terrible, painful foot. You know when you just need something to give you a little push to make what you need happen? Well, sometimes I find that making the things you absolutely hate doing a bit fun, it can help. So today my blog post is about some really pumpy songs that help me distract my brain and add a little fun to my exercises…the 12 best pump up songs that I have picked out! This is my list:

1. I am Woman – Helen Reddy (I like to sing ‘I am FZ…’🎶)

2. Pump up the Jam – Technotronic

3. Fighter – Christina Aguilera

4. Push it – Salt & Pepper

5. Survivor – Destiny’s Child

6. Roar – Katy Perry

7. Pump it – Black Eyed Peas

8. Eye of the Tiger – Survivor

9. Don’t Worry Be Happy – Bobby McFerrin

10. Shake it Off – Taylor Swift

11. Mr. Boombastic – Shaggy

12. Firework – Katy Perry

If that doesn’t work, I like to watch inspirational stories and I found this one about a pretty special man…

That guy is very amazing. I hope I can get back up from my horrible fall with Lexie Leftie just like he did!

Something else that helps me stay happy and confident through each day are these very true words from Audrey Hepburn. She is one of my inspirations.

I believe that a mix of determination, awesome music, an inspirational video and a beautiful quote of someone that you look up to, can keep you going through the day with a smile on your face and help you achieve miracles!

What is your favourite pumpy song?

Living the Audrey Life

Howdy-do!

I am super sorry that it has been such a long time since my last post, but I have been going through some very hard, very sad times. I will blog more about this another day. Today I want to write about something very special that happened to me.

For weeks and weeks I have been working on my silly, annoying, painful foot (Lexi Lefty) to get her back wearing runners to school. I have been trying to work out a motivating reward for achieving my goals, and then it hit me; where is the number one place I have been dying to visit? Tiffany and Co. of course! My mum brought up that at Chadstone shopping centre in Melbourne there is Tiffany’s, plus all the high fashion stores like Prada, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Jimmy Choo, Ralph Lauren, Chanel (ahhhhhhh!), and heaps more. I couldn’t believe my ears! One shopping centre had every shop I had ever dreamed of going into! So I obviously said YES and that was how I made Chadstone my reward for achievement, but there were a couple of tricky goals I had to meet too. They were definitely worth it! In my goal diary we set a date to travel over to Chadstone. It was last Tuesday. My whole family came along too (not the best idea to have five people squashed into a little car though!). When we arrived, well … we sort of got lost…but then we found it and we walked in with massive smiles on our faces, especially mine! My mum and I got all dressed up fancy in our very best clothes and then all of a sudden I saw these shops, one after another that I had read about everywhere! I was speechless!! Not surprisingly,  the very first shop I went into was Tiffany’s. I had already gone onto their website and worked out what I could afford, because I wanted a souvenir to keep forever. I saw this breathtakingly glamorous pendent that I absolutely LOVED!!! It said Tiffany and Co. on the front and it was shaped as a love heart. It was perfect!!

I had been saving up all my  Christmas and birthday money to buy something special, and as soon as I saw it I knew that was what I wanted! I also bought a chain (not from Tiffany’s), and went to another store. I worked my way around and then became the happiest 11 year old girl on earth!

Guess what else?  At Prada, Gucci and Tiffany’s (of coarse!) the lovely shop assistants prepared for me, bags with glossy catalogues in them…but nobody else knew that, so I was walking around looking like I was rich buying all these things that were really only pieces of paper! Even my brother and sister fell for it! I got lots of pictures of us outside and inside of the stores too.

I was very grateful, and as soon as we got home I unwrapped my bag, box and other mini bag and tried on my necklace straight away. But this necklace is a symbol of something extremely important. It represents strength and classiness to me- I can feel brave and determined at the same time as feeling gorgeous. It was beautiful! My expensive dream actually came true! And I enjoyed every minute of it. I am such a lucky girl! 😀

Even now after having a nasty fall on my foot and being stuck in bed in agony, just looking at my necklace sends positive vibes throughout my body that makes me want to power along my pain just like I imagine Audrey would do.

I hope everyone’s holidays have been really special. Also, I hope your Easters have been just as great. 🙂 Everybody have an epic day relaxing before everything goes a bit crazy again! Haha!

“For beautiful eyes,

Look for the good in others;

For beautiful lips,

Speak only words of kindness;

And for poise

Walk with knowledge that you are never alone.”

Presenting Valentino!

Standard

Halo everyone! Does anyone remember when I made a presentation about Coco Chanel? It was a little while ago now, but I had the idea of making another one on a very famous fashion designer from Italy, Valentino Garavani. I love the work that Valentino has done and I thought that some people would like to know a little bit more about him. This short movie talks about him growing up, his career and retirement, some of his collections he has designed, his business that he created with another Italian fashion designer and more details about his life. I have done plenty of research in over a month perfecting it to its best. I have enjoyed finding out more information on Valentino and I hope you do too. His life is very interesting with the ups and downs but now he is a big success. When I am in excruciating pain or just sad, sitting down and looking at all his unique designs always seems to cheer me up. So for all those fashionistas checking out this post, sit back, relax and enjoy watching my presentation on the brilliant Valentino Garavani!!

Driving Through Life on Your Motto-cycle

Standard

Howdy peeps!

What is your motto? In today’s post I would like to talk about life mottos. When I think a bit negatively and don’t know if I can achieve my goals, I like to come up with a motto to keep telling myself throughout the year. What I do is I think hard of one to suit me for the rest of the year and then I have little everyday ones. My main motto this year is ‘Make It Happen’. I came up with it because I bought a diary that said Make It Happen on the cover. My motto has changed me from being a victim to being a warrior of my condition. I always hope that things will happen positively. I believe that the only way that this will happen is if I make it happen. I am a lucky person but it takes a little work to turn your good luck into personal achievements. It takes confidence, determination, persistence and of course some blood, sweat and tears. CRPS won’t be holding me back!

So if you think really hard, what do you want to say to yourself in those tough times? What do you want to say to yourself when you are feeling sad or weak? Sometimes just telling yourself you can do it makes you power through the situation. I know that thinking positively helps me be determined.

If you want to keep moving confidently through life and not feel like you can’t achieve something, I recommend thinking of a powerful quote or motto to help you push through those moments! So get on your ‘motto-cycle’ and enjoy the ride.
Everyone have a nice day, I’d love it if you shared your life motto with me below!

Random Act of Kindness: January 2015

Standard

G’day mates!
Did you honestly think I would forget about January’s RAOK?… Never!
My family has very recently moved hometowns so we have been really busy packing and unpacking boxes. I am so sorry that I haven’t been blogging much too. I promise that there is still an FZ though! I have been working on what I should do for my next random act of kindness and because we have just moved I only wanted it to be simple but make someone very happy. Always remember that you don’t need lots of money to make people feel joyful. So I decided to type up a small random note with a small random quote and make it look pretty wrapped up in paper and stuck together with a cute farm animal sticker. I used lots of different colours to really make it ‘pop’ a little! Next I went around our new neighbourhood and delivered them by sliding them into mailboxes that my heart told me to pick out. I got wheeled around in the wheelchair with my mum pushing me and my sister scooting on her scooter. We went for a nice little wander! I had fun making this simple act of kindness that will hopefully turn someone’s day around… if it wasn’t going well at the start… otherwise I would just hope it will continue making there day happy! 🙂IMG_1407.JPG
So please remember this, you do not need a lot of money to make somebody’s day. There are so many ways of doing it so please do one, you will feel so good that you did… I know I felt awesome many, many times!
